Aloha Friday

Photobucket

Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday.

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link below. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends! (You can click on the above image and see the original blog.)

My Question this week: Do you decorate your home (kitchen, bathroom, etc.,) with a theme or with a certain color?

I don't really like to pick a certain theme, but in the past I have done my kitchen in Cherries, grapes, and the next will be red and white for Coca Cola.

The bathroom is usually done in two different colors depending on the season.

Not so 'Wordless Wednesday'

Yesterday I was clutzy, today I am just plain whiney! My foot is blue and still hurting. I wrapped it up but when I take that bandage off, I can really feel the pain. Oh well, suck it up! I would share a photo, but I am sure the last thing you want to see is my foot.

Hope everyone is having a good Wednesday!

My Two Reasons.....

Just call me Clutzy...

Today, I decided that I was bored and why not do cartwheels thru the office.... Just kidding!

I was walking toward the front of the office, stepped off the side of my shoe and went airborne. I think I was in the air for about... 15 minutes or so it seemed. I twisted my ankle, busted my knee and it really hurts. Luckily I didn't hit my head on the desk that was just a few inches away.

I am going to sit down now, prop up my leg, and relax...

I hate being a clutz!

"Not Me Monday!" #1

I have seen/read Emily do this several times, but never joined. This week, since I have nothing else to talk about, I am joining in.

- I have not told myself this week that I am going to diet and I did not walk in the door and have a chocolate marshmallow egg.

- I did not complain today at work about a co-worker.

- I did not come home and head to the computer BEFORE doing laundry.

and lastly...

- I did not go get my nails done right after telling myself that its a waste of money!

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week. If you want to join in, please feel free and head on over and check it out!

My Cube Home

Today I decorated my cube home. I blogged several days ago that I like to have my desk at work decorated in the current holiday's theme.

This time its St. Patty's day.

I didn't spend but about $5 total on everything that I have used. You can't really see it but I used wired clover garland around my computer screen making it super festive! Do you decorate your desk? Send me the pics or the link and I will post it here on my blog.

My Question:

Where will you go on your next Vacation?

We are planning to take a small vacation this year to Atlanta. To see the aquarium, the zoo, and then visit the World of Coca Cola once again.

Where are you planning to go?

Random Me...

I am so very ready for the weekend! I have nothing major planned, but I am just ready to relax a while. Monday will come way too fast, so I better enjoy it while I can. Work has been crazy this week. Anything that could go wrong, did go wrong and tempers were at full speed ahead. Not mine though, I like being the dunce in the back of the office minding my own business.

After work today I headed to my eye doctors office to pick up some contacts. Imagine my surprise when she told me I owed them a whopping $3 for 7 (yep seven!) boxes of contacts. Gotta love that insurance! At least I know its good for something. When I left there I headed to this place to look around. I try to decorate my desk at work according to the holiday so I was looking for St. Patty's Day and Easter things, but nothing seemed to jump in my hands and say 'buy me!' While I was in there, I thought about starting a scrapbook of Hubby and I but thought I had better look thru the pictures that I have before I start buying things that I will not use. That idea is currently on hold, but I will get to it one day! Maybe when we buy our next home I can use that as the starting point.

Before I forget, I should probably explain the random photo that I used for Wordless Wednesday. That picture was taken by D, the one on the right. We tried to get a picture of all of us and apparently she liked the cabinet behind us more so she chose to take its picture. Oh well, we had a great time that day and laughed hysterically as we tried to get the three of us in a good picture. Ask someone to take it you might say...well, that wouldn't have been no where near as comical and we wouldn't have laughed until we cried.

Yummy!

Even though today was a long stressful day where anything that could go wrong, did go wrong...it all changed at lunch time!

I found these lovely yummy treats! One of my favorite things to have at Easter! YUM!

Valentine's Date

Last night, Hubby and I along with my sister in law A and her boyfriend J, my mother in law and father in law, and Hubby's Aunt and Uncle went to the church they attend for dinner and a movie.

The dinner was really good. It was catered by a local lady and she had her friends to help. We had tenderloin, green beans, mashed potatoes, and cole slaw. It was very tasty and they gave us plenty. Dessert was red velvet cake.

The movie was Fireproof. It was so very good! The message that the movie sends is great and I recommend that all married couples watch this one together! It will really make you think!

Before we left, they gave us all copies of the book 'The Love Dare' that the movie is about to take home with us. Hubby and I plan to read it together. I think it will be good for us.

Better and Baking..

I am so so very glad to be better. I am not completely better, I still don't have an appetite. If that wants to stay away for say..another month or so that would be fine with me.

This weekend was a blur as I was sick most of it, but it was still a tad bit of fun. Saturday morning Hubby and I got up and scrambled around the house grabbing whatever we could for breakfast. For some reason I couldn't get motivated, I didn't understand why at the time but I would soon find out. A friend of ours had rented a cabin in Gatlinburg and invited us to spend the night so I fixed us a frozen pizza and got ready to head outside to wash and vacuum my car before we went. I started feeling sick to my stomach right after finishing the vacuuming part but just thought it was probably the frozen pizza not agreeing with me. I ran upstairs and felt fine right after so I didn't think it was any reason for me to stay home. On the ride up to meet them, my stomach started feeling rather queasy, but I was okay. I was really glad we went because we had a great time with them. Hubby played pool and we all sat around and talked. I just love being around them. We had been invited to stay the night but we didn't bring clothes and I didn't think it was the best idea to stay.

Sunday I was in bed or on the couch all.day.long! I felt horrible! I had no energy, my body ached, and I was begging for someone to take my stomach away. By Monday morning I was quite sure it was a virus as it was acting just like it had with the person I got it from. I came home at lunch and boy was I glad. I was SICK SICK SICK the rest of the day. Tuesday I was not any better and stayed home in bed. By Wednesday morning I was up and ready to get out of the house, knowing that I couldn't stand to stay at home another day. I was bored outta my head the other two days. You can only watch so much of daytime tv before you have nothing else to watch and nothing else to do.

So...here it is Thursday afternoon and I have nothing exciting going on to blog about except I am about to head into my kitchen and bake some cookies the cheat way. Tomorrow is our Valentine's day at work since we will not be there Saturday. I volunteered for cookies. I will take pics to share....

So Sick

I am sick of being sick!

It all started on Saturday morning. I blamed it on frozen pizza that didn't settle well on my stomach. Little did I know, 4 days later I would still be feeling it. I have been home in bed for a day and a half and I am so ready to be out and about. Today was a little better and I am hopeful that tomorrow I will be all better.

In other news, I had a great time Saturday night out with Tim's friends. I will tell more about that when I can stand to sit in front of the computer.

I sure hope I am better tomorrow.....

Our Newest Purchase

Last night Hubby and I went and bought new cell phones. The first time in almost 2 years that I have had a new one. I had began to hate my razor and I am debating stomping it because I hated it that.much!

We are now with Verizon instead of AT&T. The choice was simple for us. The service is better, Hubby's company uses them, and we get a rather large discount because of said company. (24%!!!)

Hubby decided on the Blackberry Storm, he likes it so far but is having a hard time adjusting.
I however knew what I wanted from the beginning. I love the voyager and knew that I had to have one like D's. She plays with that thing all day at work and it made me want one, plus it has a rather large keyboard and that leaves less room for backspacing when I text.

I must say that I am extremely happy with my new phone and I am loving the pink silicone cover that came with it! You know me, gotta girly it up some how!

*~* Awards *~*

I was recently given an award by Pam at 30Something. I really appreciate them very much!!

Friends Award:

"These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award."

Honest Scrap award:

A) First list 10 honest things about yourself - and make it interesting, even if you have to dig deep!

B) Pass the award on to 7 bloggers that you feel embody the spirit of the Honest Scrap.

10 Things about me:

1. I am an extreme neat freak, to the point that I annoy my husband. I can't even sit and watch tv if I know that the tables around me have the slightest bit of dust but I will let laundry that has to be folded hang out in the basket for days because I hate to fold it!
2. I love to take pictures of people and places to remember the times we have, but I do not like photo's of myself. I rarely tale one that I will let others see.
3. I love colorful socks and often have them for every holiday. I have boxes of them in the basement that I don't even wear.
4. I love purses, and rarely carry the same one twice. I currently have four boxes (4!!) of them in my basement that I will never carry again.
5. I have recently started excersizing using workout video's. I have really began to like it.
6. When I get ready to go somewhere, I have a certain order that I do things in. If I don't do it that way, my day seems to be ruined.
7. I love to travel! I want to be able to retire early and travel. Hubby and I put a lot of our money into our 401k, and I think we are going to regret that. We are currently losing a lot of money right now. Lets hope that it comes back up.
8. My best friend and I will often have the same purse, sometimes in different colors. Isn't it amazing that our tastes are sometimes the same but we are so different.
9. My Husband is from the city and I am from the country. Our families are nothing alike, and have not spoken but very few times. They have nothing in common.
10. Although we have no children, we discuss baby names quite frequently. We have even decided on a few. Don't worry, I have no news to tell you and we are not trying for children. That is a few years into the future.

....and the awards go to....

The Colorado Desert
Samantha
Magnolia Sun

I only went with three because everyone else has already received it. If you haven't been tagged, please join us. I am sure there are blogs that I read that should be getting it but you will have to forgive me, I am forgetful!

My new home....

Happy to be Mrs. V

Curious?

I guess you are wondering what is behind the recent move? Well, to put it quite frankly, I just didn't feel the title of the other blog and I wanted a blog about my family and my daily life. I had a really hard time finding things to blog about and I am going to make this one specifically about my life with my Husband and our precious pup Peach. I will share details of our life and all the interesting things that happen to us.

Please add me to your blogroll and continue to visit me. I promise I will be visiting you all too!

*The Basic*

Lets see....My world bullet style....
  • I am 26.
  • I am married to an amazing man, T, and we will celebrate our 7th anniversary on June 15th.
  • We have no children but we do have a dog named Peach, who rules our world.
  • I am a girly girl most of the time, but I don't mind to get dirty. Four-wheeling in a truck with my Hubby by my side is my idea of an exciting night.
  • I am from the country and I am very proud of that. I love country music and I grew up listening and watching my Dad play bluegrass music.
  • I love girly movies and do not watch scary movie unless I do not have a choice.
  • I am a huge fan of wrestling and I love John Cena. When it comes summer time, if you don't already know this fact, you will.
  • Friends are very important to me. I have been blessed with some of the best.
  • This past year I learned a lot about myself and learned a lot about the people around me. Forcing me to take a look at the people I have in my life and sadly some are not there anymore.
  • I have met several great people thru blogging, and I feel outta the loop when I don't get to read their blogs.
  • I had an amazing big brother that I lost in July of 2005, and I miss him very much.
  • You will read a lot about my parents, as they are the greatest!

Annoyed

I am aggravated today! Everything seems to be annoying me and I hate those days.

I won't bore you with the details but I have a lot on my mind and I am really trying to keep myself busy so I don't think about them. Its a little hard when we are slow here at work and part of the issue is the people around you.

It would be really nice to have someone to talk to and someone to listen you when you have days like this and so far, I haven't found anyone.

Gr!

Wonderful Weekend

I had a really good weekend! It wasn't very eventful, but I love weekends when you don't have to be rushed and you get to relax and enjoy yourself.

Saturday morning I met my best friend in town and we headed out shopping. We had decided we were going consignment store shopping to see if we could possibly find deals to save us money. Our first stop was a children's store and she was able to find a few things for her precious baby boy. After we left there, I had a not so bright idea to go to another store close by. I won't say names because it wouldn't be very nice, but this particular store disgusted us both and gave us both a much needed wake up call. We stopped a few more places before realizing that we were done and headed home.

I spent the rest of the afternoon with my Hubby and his family. We went to eat dinner and play domino's. We had a good time, other than the few times things were said that shouldn't be. This is nothing new as most of the time they make a point to make my Hubby looks as bad as they can.

Sunday we slept in. I eventually made a trip to the grocery store before heading to Knoxville with Hubby to get new babies for our fish tank. We decided on two different types of fish this time. We purchased a total of 5. Two Oscars, just like BoBo and 2 Jack Dempseys. We haven't named them yet, but I will let you know when we do.

How was your weekend?
