Happy Weekend

So, this was a very good weekend for the V's.  We accomplish a lot.  Not as much as originally planned, but do things usually go like they are suppose to?  They don't for us :)

Saturday we got up and took my engagement ring to the jeweler.  The prong that holds the diamond is bent for the second time. I didn't want to chance losing the diamond so I have to have it repaired for sure.  After leaving there we headed to home depot.  I was thinking of planting flowers, but decided against buying any because I am not sure what all I will need.  Hubby is still doing the layout of the landscaping and I guess I better wait to see what all we need.  After leaving Home Depot, we went to pick up rocks for the yard.  Little did we know but the tailgate on Mr. V's truck is bent and the rocks fell right thru.  All the way home we were driving so slow because rocks were going all over the cars around us.  That was a horrible ride home.   -- I did manage to buy me some pretty hanging baskets with Impatients in them.  They are hanging on my porch and they look so pretty.

Sunday was Mother's Day.  I cooked lunch for my mom and dinner for Mr. V's mom with the help of my sister in law.  We had lots of good food!

In other good news, my sister in law found out today she is having a BOY! I am so super happy for her!

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Happy Mother's day to all those Mom's out there.  I have the best!  She is my biggest fan and always on my side. I can't imagine my life without her.  I love you Mommy!

The New Job

Last Friday, my new boss called and informed me that he had dropped the ball and had not gotten all the things from me that he needed so I would not be able to start my job until the 20th. Darn! How sad that is...not!

I got up this morning and had to be there at 10 to finish the things I needed to do before being hired on Monday. (drug and alcohol test, background check, and then I had the opportunity to ask any questions that I could think of) I left there, got my nails done, met my hubby for lunch down the road, and stopped by to see the girls that I worked with at my former job. (Do you have any idea how exciting it is for me to be able to call that place my FORMER job?!?!? I love my girls, and I really liked my job but the stress and the drama of a few of the people is completely out of my life and I am super excited its over!)

I have a whole week off just to to take as me time and I am going to enjoy it. I plan to head south to visit family, and hopefully get a day of Lincoln/Em time in there too. Most likely mom and I will be leaving tomorrow and returning on Friday. My weekends are Hubby time and I will be home to see him!

As of right now, my life is great! Let's hope nothing comes along and rains on my parade.

Weekend Update

As per usual, I will catch you all up on the weekend happenings.

Friday was a long long boring day at work. As you know we are training and that is an adventure. No fun what so ever. Since I still work there and there is always the chance that someone might find my blog, I guess I better keep my opinions to myself... but come July 2nd, all bets are off. Anyway...after work, I ran home and picked up my engagement ring. I had to take it to the jeweler where we purchased it. The other day while I was at dinner with E, I realized that one of the prongs that holds the center diamond in was broken. It would have been too easy for the diamond to fall out and I didn't want to take that chance. I had to leave it (boo!) and will pick it up on Wednesday. Its only going to cost me $27 to have it fixed which is much much less than I expected. I feel completely naked without it.

Saturday was a fun day. I got up at about 10 and cleaned a little bit before getting ready to spend the evening with my work girls. We made plans to watch "He's just not that into you" and veg out in front of the tv. Turns out we had to have the kids there with us, which was fun. They are so much entertainment. They both have 2 year olds and they are so funny together. One is a girl, Baby C, and one is a boy, Baby K. We ate and ate, but luckily it was food that was good for us. We have veggies, fruits, and uhum... dirt cake(courtesy of me!). We were there for about five hours trying to watch a two hour movie.
(I do recommend you watch it, it was very true and very funny!!)

Sunday was a busy day for us. We had breakfast at my parents(bacon, country ham, eggs, and fried potatoes) and dinner at Outback. Both meals were wonderful, but I have to say that nothing compares to my mommy's cooking.

My Uncle is at home, like I said before, and doing pretty well. He is still having a hard time adjusting to not being able to do much for himself. He is still weak, and they have not set up therapy for him to make his muscles stronger. That makes no sense to me, but I am not a doctor. I hope to be able to see him soon, but I would much much rather visit when he is well. I think I am most afraid that he will not remember who I am, and I don't think I could stand that!!

Vacation is still going as planned. We will be making our final payment on Friday and I am super excited and ready for it. A whole week to relax and do absolutely nothing!! AND it will be the very first vacation that Hubby and I have taken alone.

In other news, Hubby has been sick all weekend. Just when you think he is better, he has another bout of sickness. He is having horrible sinus problems this year and its not fun. He is miserable. He is having to stay doped up on meds, and is drowsy most of the night when he is home. I sure hope he is better soon!!

Work is another issue that I would LOVE to rant about, but like I said earlier I will wait. I better keep my mouth closed and just be thankful that I still have the job for another 24 days.

Again!

I don't think that I will ever get back to blogging on a daily basis, however when I do the summary blog (again!) I do have more detail and that makes it that much more interesting. So, lets get started.

Daily Life (and Peach!)
Nothing major is going on in our daily life. We are just working and living. Nothing much going on. Hubby is on vacation this week, and I was planning to take a few days myself. We planned to return to Atlanta and see the aquarium. Since I won't have a job most likely after July, I am going to work and only take one possibly two days. We have lots of errands to run on Friday so we will have quite the busy day. Not to mention, my cutesy little puppy finally gets a haircut. We haven't been able to take her with both of us working. The place isn't open late and its closed on weekends. I will share pics when she is finished!

My Uncle
He is at home!! Praise God! I haven't gotten an update in the last few days, I am guessing my Aunt is adjusting to life at home again and trying to make sure he is taken care of. I hope to be able to go visit soon, I just don't want to be in the way or be more of a hassle to her. Please continue to keep him in your prayers. They work!!

School
As of right now, I don't really know what I am going to do. Since failing the test, I haven't been so sure that I want to go to that particular school and take the classes that I really don't need. I am pretty sure I am just going to go to the Tech School and get my degree.

The House
The house that I blogged about wanting weeks ago that is finally for sale... I called about it. Its actually in the price range that we were looking. Let's just see if its still for sale when we are able to purchase. Keep your fingers crossed.

Girls Night
E and I went to see this movie the other night. Actually we had dinner, shopping, and a movie. We had a great time and the movie was funny. I love both of the main characters so I knew I would love it.

My Mother in Law is now in Romania on her mission trip. She left yesterday afternoon and was to arrive there sometime this morning. We won't be able to talk to her much so I just have to pray that she will be okay. She returns next Tuesday. Keep her in your prayers as well.

Last but not least. Happy Memorial Day! We are headed to my mom's for dinner in a little while. I love that woman's cooking!

I promised and I lied

to all of you!

I said I was going to keep my blog more up to date and post more. However, thru the week I rarely do anything other than work and come home to do absolutely nothing because I am stressing majorly over how much we have to do in a day. By the time I get home, I am mentally drained and I crash.

I do have a few updates to share with you though.

My Uncle
He is a lot better. He can feed himself, and he can talk. He wasn't much of a talker so at this point they are still unsure of brain damage. They are trying to regulate his blood gases, whatever that means. Once they are able to do that then they will go from there. He hasn't been up out of the bed in over a month so his muscles are very weak and he will have to have lots of therapy. Keep him in your prayers. Our God is amazing!

Work
...is super crazy. We are busy from beginning to end and rarely get a moment to stop and relax. We only have 47 days left, and they intend to work us up until the end I think. My GM came to us on Thursday (just another co-worker and myself) and asked if we would be interested in staying on after July 2nd if they needed us. I think that depends on how it affects our unemployment. I can't just walk away from it not having another job or able to draw unemployment so I guess we will see how that all plays out.

School
I am still unsure about. I failed my math test so that means that I will have to take the lower classes before I can take the required classes. However, there is another school here, a tech school that offers pretty much the same study I am interested in. I don't know how the diploma's compare though with one being a tech school and one being a college. Any idea?

Vacation
I had said before that The V's weren't vacationing this year, but we changed our mind. Hubby gets three bonuses a year and has decided he has earned a very well deserved vacation. We are taking a cruise with Carnival again. Just the two of us. This will be our very first vacation alone and we have been married almost 7 years!! We always travel with others. I am excited!!!

Home Buying
Hubby and I will be trying to purchase a home later this year. We will hopefully be at the point where we can get what we want... depending on our money situation when that time comes.

Rehab

My uncle is in rehab. He was finally able to be removed from all the machines he was on except the ventilator. He has it just in case. He can talk a little and answer questions, he is watching tv, and resting a LOT! My Aunt said the doctors were concerned with the fact he wasn't talking as much as they would like, but they just don't realize he was never a talker before the heart attack.

Please continue to pray for him and my family. If ever we needed a wake up call, this was surely one!

Updates

I didn't realize that it would be this hard to work for a company when you know they are closing and you are going to be left out in the cold. I feel this way most of the time. Lately, we have been so busy that we haven't had a chance to get upset. We are covered up from the minute we walk in the door until its time to leave. Today, I worked over 30 minutes, unfortunately I won't be getting overtime because I have to leave early on Wednesday.

--------------------------------------------------

I will be taking my test for college on Wednesday. I haven't had a test in 9 years so it will be like starting all over. I am super excited to start the new phase of my life. I can't wait to get back to school and have homework. What can I say? I love to write.

--------------------------------------------------

My Uncle seems to be improving some. He was trying to get out of bed yesterday. He is strapped down for his safety as well as the Dr's and nurses. He still has the breathing tube but it only on 55% oxygen which is much better than the 100% he was on. He seems to have somewhat of an idea as to what is going on, but they won't know until they can remove the tube from his throat. Please keep up those prayers, they are working.

Update

It seems like its one step forward and two steps back for my Uncle. He was awake this morning, he was making eye contact with my Aunt and following her around the room with his eyes. Mom said he tried to talk, but couldn't because of the thing in his throat. It seemed to be going well, but then he started bleeding from his mouth. They have an ear nose and throat Dr in there now, so they should know what is causing that soon.

Please keep him in your prayers.

My absence

If you have noticed, I have been absent since last Wednesday.

My Uncle had a massive heart attack at work on Thursday morning. I have spent the weekend at University Hospital in Augusta Georgia. Right now, things are still a little uncertain and they are taking it day by day. They have ran several test and he seems to be healing quite nicely. He does have pneumonia and they are keeping him sedated to let his heart and body rest. He is a fighter. One Dr. told us that he had never seen anyone with this type of heart attack survive. We have an amazing God, don't we! A true miracle worker.

Please keep him and my family in your prayers. My mom is still there with her sister, and they are not leaving his side.

Our Easter

We have had a great day today. We started our day with breakfast at my parents. They go all out when they know we are coming. (Peach wasn't able to go with us this time because my parents dog has been sick and I don't want her to be.) They fixed us sausage, bacon, and country ham, fried potatoes and biscuits and gravy. If you have ever read my blog you know that my mom is by far the best cook ever. We got our belly's full and sat around and talked a while.

For lunch we headed to my in-laws. They fixed BBQ, baked beans, and mac and cheese. It was so very yummy. The whole family was there today and it was great to sit around and talk. They pulled out old pics and it was really interesting to hear Mr. V's Mamaw tell stories about them.

Tonight, my SIL Amy and her boyfriend John came to our house to watch a movie. About half way thru we decided to get pizza and head back to my MIL's house to watch the rest. Mr. V wasn't feeling very well so he stayed home asleep. We watched 7 pounds with Will Smith. It was very good but a little hard to figure out until the end.

Now, I am at home about to crash. I am so worn out. I have been going steady since 8 this morning.

I will tell you all about my lovely potato soup mess tomorrow.

Computer problems and surgery

Today was a bad day at work. We began the day with no phone system or computer system. We sat at our desks trying to find things to do that didn't involve our computers for over half of the day. Finally around lunch time we were lucky and got everything back working. I hate days like that.

Also, my Mother in law had surgery today. This is her 4th!! hip surgery. I just recently heard that she was out of it and in her room. We aren't going to visit tonight, but I am sure we will head up there tomorrow. She has a long road ahead of her and I really feel for her.

Happiness!

I hope that everyone had a very Merry Christmas!

Today was back to work for me and Hubby. He is still at work now. He is suppose to be off next week on vacation, so I think he isn't too upset about having to work today.

Yesterday was a busy day for us. We spent the morning having breakfast with my parents. They cooked a huge breakfast as usual and we enjoyed ourselves. When we left there, we headed to Hubby's parents house for their Christmas get-together. We had a great time there too.

We were blessed with several gifts this year, but the best part of the whole day was being able to spend the time with my Husband. I can promise that I will never take a single second that I have with him for granted.....I have something I want to share with you all...

This past week, my friend from work showed me a blog. It was a lady who has a terminal illness and her doctor has told her that their is nothing they can do. She is now on hospice and she is very young. She was sent home to prepare to die and she has two babies at home. She uses the blog to talk about her daily life and I was in tears reading it. I am going to see if I can possibly find it to share with those of you who are interested.

I don't know how you would ever be strong enough to do something like that, I can't imagine!

Here is the link to her blog, prepare to cry! They have updated it and sadly.....

Starting New

Since I am starting new, I thought I would just go from this point on and not bore you all with the details of the past weeks. I am going to tell you what is currently going on with me and my family.
Our Georgia House
Woohoo! I am super excited to say that we have a contract on our house. The offer was pretty good, and we knew we couldn't pass up that chance. If everything goes as planned, January 16th the house will no longer be ours and it will have a proud new owner. Keep your fingers crossed!

Our Pets
Currently we have a sick little baby. Last night while running and jumping like usual she hurt her back. She does this sometimes, and the next day she is afraid to jump. The vet told us this would happen with dogs with long backs like hers. She has long legs, but she is the tiniest little thing. She is much smaller than most miniature Schnauzers. I think she was the runt, but she would probably disagree. Doesn't she look so pitiful!

Our other baby, BoBo, now have a new 'fishy' home. He was getting to big for his little tank so he graduated to the bigger tank we had waiting for him. He is in heaven! He can swim and swim and not worry about running into things. Look over his missing scales, he was so big in that little tank he was constantly beating himself up! He is looking better, and seems to really like the new home.

Tim's new job
Some of you already knew, and some of you didn't so I will fill you all in so you will understand. In October, the company that he works for made all of the employee's reapply for their jobs. Some of the people, including my husbands stepdad have been there for 30+years. They were able to bid on 6 jobs, and they interviewed them all. I am happy to say that Tim has a new job and a better paying job than he had before. He won't have to work as hard and he will still have a company car. That was our biggest worry because he has a gas hog of a truck that we wouldn't be able to afford him to drive daily.

My Job
Work is going good. We are not as busy as I would like to be, but I hope that changes soon. Drama is still there but I guess that is everywhere you go. Some people thrive on making other people's lives horrible, and I will never understand that. Some people let their positions go to their heads, and forget that at one time they were in the same place you are. Oh well, I guess I should just be thankful to have a job huh!

Before I forget, when I deleted the other blog I have lost several of the links to the blogs I love. If your name and link isn't on the side please let me know because I miss you and want to keep in touch.
