School

This week, I have been trying to get things together and find out all the things that I need to do before going to school in the fall. I have talked to the financial aid dept, tried to talk to an advisor, and gotten my paperwork that I needed in order for later when I actually go talk to someone.

When I called the financial aid dept, they did not have any good news for me. Unfortunately, I am not eligible for financial aid or a pell grant. We made too much money last year and that keeps me from qualifying. Sad! I am still going though, nothing is keeping me from actually making something of myself.

My next call was to my former High School. I had to get them to fax me my transcript. Pat me on the back! I was majorly surprised at how well I had done. The paper came across "Honor's diploma". I knew I had earned it, but seeing it again made my head swell. Not really, but the girls bragged on me. Hubby and I talked about it last night too. We both agreed that we wished we had tried harder and paid more attention. Maybe our parents knew what they were talking about.

Lastly, I wasn't able to get in touch with an advisor and I will have to wait until I get my letter in the mail to see exactly who I need to contact. I do know that I will have to take a test to see where I will be placed class wise. I don't do well under pressure, but this is something I want and I am going to work my hardest.

On my way to being a paralegal. I am ready to be somebody!

I tried to leave a comment the other day but the comments weren't working. =(

Anyway, have you tried applying for any time of work-study program? It's through financial aid but it's money set aside for you to work in some compacity on campus and get paid. I did this when I was getting my Bachelor's and worked in one of the computer labs.
